We’re far from the first people to muse about summer’s magical qualities -- the days stretch on into the evening, the warmer temps give way to exposed skin, the beer flows like wine, and the water is oh so inviting. And if there’s one thing we love about summer, it’s playing on the water! Its hypnotic essence invites adventure and discovery.
Whether you’re captaining a canoe, a standup paddleboard, a kayak, floaties, or any other kind of water vessel, you know that when you pull it out of the storage shed, good times will be following close behind. Water doesn’t judge you based on your current financial status - you can have just as much fun with a $10 inner tube or floatie raft as you can on a $100k wakeboard boat. So grab that watercraft and round up some friends for a party barge of epic proportions.
Now that we’re in the heart of summer, we’ve pulled together some of our favorite pics from our water adventures so far this year. We’ve taken paddleboards and kayaks on the waters surrounding Glacier National Park and whitewater rafts through the Smith River. We’ve explored by canoe with our fishing poles in hand and had several lazy afternoons floating down rivers with the best of friends. There’s even been a few cliff and bridge jumps thrown in for good measure. And every time we come away from one of these outings we instantly feel recharged; ready to take on whatever the world throws at us next.
Since we’re all about recipes here at GSI, here’s a recipe for #summervibes:
- Paddleboards
- Friends
- Adult beverages
- A lazy river
Combine and let sit for 2-3 hours. Repeat if necessary.
Next time you need to recharge the soul, grab a canoe (or your favorite vessel of choice) and head to the nearest stream, river, lake or reservoir. It's best medicine you could ask for.
